Tire Rotation
The term tire rotation refers to the regular practice of switching the position of each tire on the car. This is generally recommended every 6,000-8,000 miles (or every other oil change). This service helps to balance out tread wear and is important to maximizing the life of your set of tires.
The current industry-wide practice that Archer’s Action Auto in Myrtle Beach utilizes is ‘forward-cross’ rotation. This is best since if tires are wearing on the inside/outside, switching the side will even them out. The tires will wear evenly as long as the tires are properly inflated, the vehicle is aligned to specifications, and all suspension components are working properly.
