Diagnostics
Our shop has ASE-certified technicians with 100+ years of combined experience fixing cars. Throughout that time, we have seen pretty much everything from carburetors to computer sensors. We are confident that our crew can fix any diagnostics problem…even those nagging electronic problems that other shops won’t touch.
To supplement our experience, Archer’s subscribes to several online informational databases which are maintained by industry experts. These resources allow us to tap into service knowledge on any make/model vehicle.
We utilize: AllDataPro, Mitchell on Demand, and Identifix
This gives us access to:
• Technical service bulletins (TSB)
• Factory & safety recalls
• System/electrical diagrams
• Diagnostics codes, symptoms, and troubleshooting
• Fluid capacities & calibration specifications
• Dealer-recommended maintenance schedule and requirements
Scanning Equipment
Archer’s uses only the best equipment, which is why we have invested in the Snap-On MODIS Diagnostic System. The MODIS is more than just an OBD-II scanner: it has troubleshooting software, component testing, scoping capabilities, a digital volt-ohm meter, and more. Combined with our experience, we can be confident that our diagnoses are correct the first time. We will not just throw parts at a problem and hope it goes away. This saves us time and our customers money.
Diagnostic Charges
Archer’s has diagnostic fees in place based on our standard labor rate ($85 per hour). The amount charged depends on how long it takes our technician to identify the problem. Every year, we must invest in many hours of technical training, new tools, informational databases, and software updates. Our business must be able to cover these costs in order to maintain our professional, superior quality of diagnostics and repairs. Also to keep in mind, all repairs diagnosed & performed at our shop carry at least a 24-month, 24,000-mile nationwide warranty.
We truly appreciate your business and trust in our expertise!
